The district had a yearly average of $196,966,095 in outstanding debt. The presiding officer may terminate the speaker's privilege of address if, after being called to order, the speaker persists in improper conduct or remarks. If there are a large number of persons who sign up to speak on a single topic, the presiding officer may require that the group select representative speakers and comment for no more than 15 minutes, or such other longer time as the presiding officer deems appropriate.ĭefamatory or abusive remarks are always out of order. The President shall call on those persons who have signed the forms at the appropriate place in the Board proceedings. The form will be collected when the Board of Education begins the "Information Items," "Action Items" and the "Concluding Items" portions of the agenda. Persons residing within the boundaries of the Aurora Public Schools, employees and students of the Aurora Public Schools, officials of the State of Colorado or other school systems wishing to address the Board, are required to complete the appropriate form which will be found on the sign-up table, indicating under which agenda item they wish to speak. If a community member is unable to obtain satisfaction through the District's administration, a letter may be sent to the Board containing detailed information about the problem. Community members of the Aurora Public Schools are urged to contact the building principal or the Office of the Superintendent of Schools for assistance prior to bringing a particular problem or concern to the Board of Education. The Board of Education welcomes constructive suggestions and comments which may help to meet the educational needs of students of the District and improve its operation. Interested persons of the Aurora Public Schools are encouraged to attend meetings of the Board, but any person who disturbs good order may be required to leave.
